Happy Monday Sheepdogs! Spring is almost here. So, it's time to get out of the house and get active again. We will be meeting in the barn tonight at 7pm for our discussion. Show up at 6pm if you want to play some basketball. We will be discussing men's attendance in "church". I'm not quite ready to include everything in the post for reference but I'll include a few things. See you guys tonight!
CBN (The Christian Broadcasting Network) had a cool article I read titled "Why Men Hate Church". This is an article from the author of the book Why Men Hate Going to Church, David Murrow. Although I don't agree with everything in the article, it is very interesting and would be a great discussion.
I've also referenced an interesting video with Doug Wilson on how the "church" fails men. Doug Wilson and Aaron Renn articulate in detail how the modern-day church establishment has failed to equip men of today.
Has church moved away from the thinkers and rationalists?? Do men like being told how to think and feel? Who is right and who is wrong? Should men be calm, loving, peaceful, compliant, and submissive?? Or should men be relentless, bold, fiery, passionate, defiant, resolute, and determined?? What examples did men of the bible give us? Were Christ, Peter, Paul, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Samuel lambs... or were they lions who defied an unjust authority and fought with the deepest devotion and passion, physically and intellectually ....?
