Community Devotion

And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. - Acts 2:42

It seems that the early followers of Christ found it imperative to form a community after his death, resurrection, and ascension. They focused on just a few things that they devoted themselves too regularly. We eventually started calling this community "church", except that church has taken on many different forms over the last two thousand years or so.
Ultimately, community is essential for followers of Christ. Are you plugged into a community? It doesn't matter the size, or the building built by the hands of man, what matters is togetherness and breaking bread and devoting yourselves to learning about God in the Scripture. If you are currently attending a "church" or group, is it causing you to grow in your faith?

God, help me to continue to be part of the community that is enriching for my family and me. Even when it gets hard, help me to strive towards being a Christian example and leader for my community. Sheepdog Amen.

I truly love my community, family, and friends. My spiritual journey has allowed me to see things outside of myself. Serving others and loving every second of it, is truly our calling as Sheepdogs.
